2/9/2023 Fraudulent​ Nursing School Investigation Update

The Maryland Board of Nursing continues to experience delays in processing initial and renewal applications for licensure and certification due to information technology ​limitations, numerous vacant full-time positions, and decreased operational resources. The Board sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and hardships this has caused our constituents. The Board, in partnership with the Department of Information Technology, anticipates improved information technology operational capacity before summer 2023. In the interim, the Board will continue to do all that it can to process applications as quickly as possible. Thank you for your attention, patience, and consideration on this matter.​​

Effective immediately, the Maryland Board of Nursing will only accept official transcripts that are either mailed directly from a Nursing School/Program to the Board or emailed directly from a Nursing School/Program to the appropriate department at the Board: 

RN/LPN Exam Applicants - MDBON.ExamTranscripts@maryland.gov​ 
Advanced Practice Applicants - MBON.AdvPracTranscripts@maryland.gov 
Endorsement Applicants - MDBON.NETSTranscripts@maryland.gov

The Board will no longer accept transcripts directly from individuals.​​​​​

COVID-19 Access to Justice Task Force - Surviving Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation Committee Health Care Provider Survey Information
All RNs, LPNs, APRNs with Compact privileges and CNAs whose license or certificate expires in April and May of 2021 must obtain a CHRC in addition to processing an online renewal. The tracking identification number must be entered onto the application in order for the renewal application to process. Please note: Upon completion of the online renewal application, transaction receipt is only the beginning step of the renewal process and not the actual renewal.
